It was all

a dream.

WHAT WE’RE

ABOUT.

OUR VISION

FORWARD.

JOIN US.

For nearly three decades, Jitters has been more than just a café. Since the early ’90s, we've been a gathering spot for locals—where friends meet, artists perform, and time feels a little slower. Jitters is known as the oldest running coffee shop in Oceanside, and over the years, it's become a place where stories are told over cappuccinos and ideas are born over bold vegan bites.

In 2024, we reached a new chapter. We joined forces with Grammy Award-winner Jason Mraz—a longtime friend of Jitters—and Chef Felix Alcaide of One Kitchen Collaborative. Together with Vallie Gilley (who’s owned Jitters for over 20 years), we refreshed the menu, renovated the space, and recommitted to what made Jitters special in the first place.

Plant-forward comfort with purpose: We love bold flavors, creative dishes, and food that feels nourishing—vegan eats, globally inspired twists, fresh produce, local ingredients.

Coffee crafted with care: Smallbatch espresso, house-roasted beans, drinks made with intention. Whether you're craving a quiet cappuccino or a strong cold brew, we want each cup to wake you up, warm you up, and set the tone for whatever your day brings.

Community & creativity: We believe in the power of gathering. From live music nights, comedy, DJ sets, art, workshops, to open mics—Jitters is built to be a home for local talent and for people to connect.

We’re not just keeping Jitters alive—we’re making it more vibrant than ever. With extended hours, a full lineup of events, and a renewed menu that honors both tradition and growth, we want to deepen the roots we’ve planted over the years. Our vision is to be a place where every person feels welcomed, every artist feels heard, and every sip and bite feels like coming home.

Come for the coffee. Stay for the community. Whether you’re here for the early morning espresso, a plant-powered breakfast, Taco Tuesday, or a music set—there’s always something brewing at Jitters. Your seat is waiting, cup is ready.
